The Olympics started in Ancient Greece and they got banned for some time until it returned to the world as a new and modernized sports organization. People from different countries represent their country by their effort and skill to take part of this wonderful, global event. The Olympics are what they are today because it received the history of the Modern Olympics and because it gets praise by many people who enjoy bobsledding when they watch the games. First, The Olympics are what they are today because it received the history of the modern Olympics. There are around 35 Olympic events a few of them include, Tennis, Bobsledding and the Triathlon and the first city to hold the modern Olympics was Athens in 1896. The location in Athens was to honor the beginning of the Ancient Olympics. Pierre do Couperton wanted the Olympics to be reinstated because he wanted countries and people to participate in sports, art and culture. Men and Women from all over the world competed in the new modern Olympics both summer and winter for diplomas and simple medals but the glory was their real prize (multimedia.org). The history of the modern Olympics is what makes today’s Olympics special while many people indulge in watching the sports such as bobsledding. Next, the modern Olympics are what they are today because it gets praise by people who enjoy bobsledding as a sport. Many people find the sport bobsledding a favorite because of the high speeds and dangerous tracking. The American Bobsledding team practices in Salt Lake City, Utah even though Germany is predicted to win even though they have stepped down from a winning streak (Mahalo.com). The U.S. Has never won a gold medal in bobsledding since 1920 but have always been in the top three. Germany holds the record for the most gold medalists for a long time. The chances of the U.S. making the top three for bobsledding are very high because of an Olympic gold medalist Seven Holcomb, who is going to return next winter; people are expecting to at least get bronze (Olympics.org). There is a lot of buzz about who is going to win and the standings for bobsledding is going to be tight. The bobsledding sport is especially exiting this year due to tight standings and that just adds on to the spirit of the Olympics. Finally, The Olympics are what they are today because it got change by the history of the modern Olympics and because it receives attention from bobsledding fans from around the world. The modern Olympics keep getting more exciting as the years go by. In the future there may be even more games to compete with each other and the praise will be endless.
